Acanthus 'North'
Acanthus WSM recently enjoyed an office away day to the historic City of Durham along with the Newcastle and Edinburgh Acanthus practices. The trip included a visit to St Johns College, where our associated office, Acanthus Darbyshire have completed a number of successful projects over many years such as the refectory, student residential block and the highly acclaimed Learning Resource Centre. The day included a private guided tour of the cathedral ending with obligatory drinks in a riverside pub!
Stig
We are sad to announce that Stig, our office dog, has died after a brief illness.
For over a decade he’s been a loyal member of the team, taking the lead on office morale and any left over biscuits. Popular with many of our clients, he will be sadly missed by us all.
Newport House, Pontefract
We are delighted that Newport House is a winner in the Pontefract Civic Society Design Awards 2024.
The apartments are built on the site of the former fire station in Pontefract and have been awarded the prize for Best Residential Housing Development.
Opened last year, the building provides 37 affordable homes and was developed in partnership with WDH, Wakefield Council and West Yorkshire Combined Authority, with funding from Homes England and was built by Caddick Construction Limited.
