Work is well under way installing the Fusion pre insulated light gauge, steel system – a first for Acanthus WSM Architects. The initial delivery took place in early February and less than one month later work had commenced on the third floor. It is anticipated that by April all seven floors will be completed with the internal fit out and external cladding following closely behind. The completed scheme will result in 132 student bed spaces together with ground floor retail space and student communal areas. The complexities involved in working on this tight city centre site combined with a challenging programme were a major factor in the construction solution. Completion is due to take place late summer allowing for a September intake of students.
