As 2021 comes to a close it`s great to see the first 1300 tonnes of steelwork erected at Sylvester Street, Sheffield. This 13 storey development, in a prominent location near the city centre, consists of 335 luxury PRS apartments, gymnasium, external roof gardens together with ground floor commercial space.

It`s been a busy six months to reach this exciting milestone and we are looking forward to working closely with Winvic Construction to progress this project at speed in the New Year.

Acanthus are delighted that the estate regeneration continues in Halton with the second phase receiving planning approval.

The proposal will see the creation of new build two and three bedroom properties in curtilage car parking and landscaping and will reinforce the street frontage.

It is intended that construction will commence in early 2022.

Acanthus WSM are once again working with Habinteg Housing Association, this time in the Midlands. The proposed scheme will provide much needed CAT 3 wheelchair accessible and CAT 2 accessible / adaptable homes. All apartments are generously proportioned offering residents the chance of independent living both inside and out, this includes access to either private outdoor amenity space or accessible balconies off living rooms.

In collaboration with Habinteg, extensive research has been undertaken into the proposed buildings energy strategy without the reliance upon fossil fuels,  not only to future proof the development but also ensure the residents and not forced into fuel poverty.

Habinteg’s continue to create accessible and inclusive communities, offering places to live that meet people’s needs and provide the highest levels of independence, choice and control over daily life – Homes for life.

Extremely positive pre-application feedback has been received from the Local Authority supporting the proposal. Detailed planning application will be submitted summer 2021.
